For nearly two decades, Vidya has lived and breathed Innovation. As a physician innovator, Vidya excels in establishing and evolving innovation strategy, and in enabling the execution of the strategy with and through large multifunctional teams. She has had the privilege to work for large organizations like Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, Johnson & Johnson, and United Healthcare, and has routinely leveraged innovation to solve for unmet needs, enable consumer centricity, and align the healthcare ecosystem to create compelling value. Vidya is skilled at taking a strategic view of enterprise assets, and identifying adjacent possibilities in order to enable real and practical innovation. Her work has spanned domains like digital health, precision health, behavior modification, provider collaboration, social determinants, and others.
She is considered a strong collaborator, relationship builder, and negotiator by her colleagues and partners. Throughout her career, Vidya has met, mentored, and partnered with startups, as well as established meaningful strategic partnerships with large organizations.
Vidya is a sought after speaker on all things innovation, digital health, human-centered design, consumer-centric health solutions, and strategic partnerships. She has spoken at the CES, Cleveland Innovation Summit, Unleashing Innovation Summit, and HBA, to name a few. Vidya was recognized as a 'Woman Worth Watching' in 2016, and as a Top 40 Healthcare Transformer in 2017. She is also the recipient of the Tech Innovator Award in 2016. Vidya is a strong believer in women's leadership and frequently holds round tables on the topic, in addition to serving as a mentor to early and mid-career women professionals.
PRIOR EXPERIENCE
Most recently, Vidya worked with United Healthcare, where she established and served as the Head of the UHC Innovation Center of Excellence. The Innovation CoE was established to enable the enterprise to power growth through breakthrough innovation and engrain innovation into the organization's DNA so that all UHC businesses (Employer, Individual, Medicare, Medicaid, Military & Veterans, and International) would habitually leverage innovation to problem solve. She served on the UHG Innovation Council, a cross-enterprise group under the UHG President and CEO; provided leadership and guidance to business teams and mentorship to employees, women and start-ups; and regularly represented enterprise innovation at UHG's annual Investor Conference, press, media, and conferences.
Earlier in her career, Vidya served in innovation leadership roles with Johnson and Johnson and Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey.
